Job Description
JOB GOAL : To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development incorporating a framework clustered into four domains of teaching responsibility: planning and preparation, classroom environment, instruction, and professional responsibilities.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : This position is a Nine and one‑fourth (9.25) month contract (190 days) plus a benefits package. Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on experience and LRSD’s salary placement guidelines. FLSA: EXEMPT.
Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university teacher education program.
Arkansas teacher’s license appropriate for level and/or subject area assignment.
Competence in teaching experience demonstrated in an electronic portfolio that highlights coherent instruction, use of questioning and discussion techniques, engaging students in learning, and incorporation of technology.
Relevant teaching experience.
Working knowledge of relevant technology.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Teaches assigned subject area using the course of study adopted by the Board of Education, LRSD Curriculum Guides, and other appropriate learning activities. Communicates effectively in both written and oral forms.
Planning and Preparation:
Plans, prepares, and delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning, demonstrating pedagogy, knowledge of students, instructional goals, resources, and assessment.
Classroom Environment:
Establishes a culture of learning, manages classroom procedures and student behavior, and organizes physical space. Applies appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary.
Instruction:
Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with student needs, integrates STEM concepts and inquiry methodologies, and infuses technology into instructional activities.
Professional Responsibilities:
Maintains accurate records, communicates with families, contributes to the school and district, and engages in professional growth.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:
The employee must sit, stand, walk, use foot and hand controls, use a telephone, and write. Occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds. Must have the ability to work the full contracted time, be physically present and at assigned work with infrequent unexcused absences.
