
Preschool (Pre-K) Teacher - St. Helen Catholic School - Ukrainian Village

St. Helen School is seeking a full‑time Pre‑Kindergarten Teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year.
Responsibilities:
Teach and act in accordance with the mission of the Catholic faith.
Perform teaching duties for a self‑contained classroom.
Maintain a safe, orderly, and secure learning environment.
Create unit and lesson plans for each day’s activities and subjects.
Observe students’ behaviors and intervene when necessary to prevent disruptions.
Collaborate with teacher aides and other support staff to maximize learning opportunities for students.
Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and the principal.
Provide feedback to parents regarding their child’s progress in school.
Maintain accurate student attendance and academic records.
Attend required faculty and staff meetings and participate in professional development activities.
Cooperate with the administrators and staff members in school‑related meetings, activities, and projects.
Participate in the annual performance review and maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel.
Represent the school/parish positively at all events, including extracurricular activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Valid teaching licensure in Illinois or out‑of‑state preferred.
At least 1‑3 years of teaching experience preferred.
Must complete Catholic identity formation training.
Practicing Catholic preferred (required for religion teachers).
Must meet compliance with safe environment requirements.

The salary range for a lay employee is $38,527–$68,776, and for a religious employee is $35,686–$62,316.
