Respond to accidents, providing first aid and emergency services until paramedics arrive.
Respond to dispatched calls.
Conduct traffic, criminal and other investigations.
Prepare detailed and well written reports.
Testify in court in response to subpoenas
Shift:
12-hour rotating shifts
Qualifications:
At least 21 years old
Citizen of the United States or a permanent resident
Have a minimum of a high school diploma or a high school equivalency recognized by the State of Louisiana
Must have one of the following
at least one year of experience as a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certified law enforcement officer in a full-time position, whose job duties included armed duty with the power of arrest; or
Louisiana Law Enforcement POST Certification; or
1 year of continuous active duty in the military; or
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university; or
60+ semester hours from a regionally accredited college or university in a Bachelor's Degree program
Compensation and Benefits:
$46,755 starting annual salary

Louisiana Deferred Compensation Plan is a voluntary retirement saving vehicle. Employees may choose to contribute tax‑free dollars to save for retirement. The plan is similar to a 401(k) plan offered in private industry, but there is no employer match for employee contributions. It is a 457 plan.
