Official Title:

Trade & Industrial Education Teacher (CTAE) – Information Technology (Cyber Security)

Summary Description
Under the direction of the school principal and designated staff, plans, and provides appropriate learning experiences for students. Creates an environment conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development, ensuring success for every student. Supervises students in various school settings, monitors outcomes, communicates with students, parents, staff, and community, and maintains records and procedures.

Performance Responsibilities

Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of individuals to ensure success for every student.

Report to work on time and be prepared for all classes and duty assignments.

Create a classroom environment that supports student involvement and achievement of learning objectives.

Provide an instructional program to meet the needs of all students, including those with disabilities.

Prepare lesson plans and other documentation as required.

Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.

Establish learning objectives consistent with student needs, RCSS curriculum framework, and growth and development principles.

Plan and utilize instructional methods, resources, and evaluation techniques that motivate and enable student achievement.

Assesses learning and behavioral needs regularly and supports IEPs for students with disabilities.

Take necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and RCSS policy.

Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct.

Ensure classroom behavior remains orderly and fair.

Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside instructional time as required.

Build respectful relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community.

Plan and supervise assignments for instructional assistants, teacher assistants, and volunteers.

Evaluate paraprofessional job performance with department heads and/or administrators.

Maintain fair grading policies and procedures, attendance, email, and web pages using RCSS technology systems.

Execute any other duties assigned by supervisors or required by policy and law.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
Knowledge of RCSS curriculum, integration techniques, policies, and instructional practices; understanding of teaching/learning processes; ability to present multiple perspectives and multicultural education; ability to infuse technology into curriculum; effective communication, interpersonal, and human relations skills.

Education, Training, and Experience
Minimum of an Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution approved by the PSC. Minimum of two years of occupational experience in the field. Eligibility for a valid Technical Specialist Georgia teaching certificate in the employed teaching field.

Certificate and License Requirements
Industry certifications as outlined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, including one of the following: A+ certification from CompTIA; Net+ certification from CompTIA; Certified Netware Engineer (CNE) from Novell; Certified Netware Administrator (CNA) from Novell; Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE); Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA); Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

Physical Demands
Ability to move around the classroom, stoop, bend, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 20 pounds. May require physical restraints during crisis intervention.

Special Requirements
Attend school meetings, programs, and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by contract. Serve as teacher sponsor for Career Technical Student Organization. CDL School Bus Passenger licensure and bus driving duties may be required. Pass GACE Basic Skills, Exceptional Childhood course, and complete the state-approved program in Trade and Industry within the initial certificate validity period.

Evaluation
Annual evaluation based on Richmond County Board of Education policy.
