Position Summary

Logan High School is seeking an outstanding and motivated leader to serve as Head Basketball Coach for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a coaching-only position and is not tied to a teaching assignment. The Head Coach will lead all aspects of the basketball program, with an emphasis on building a highly competitive program, developing student‑athletes, and fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and sportsmanship.
Season

October through March
Responsibilities Include

Design and implement a comprehensive program focused on skill development, strength and conditioning, and competitive success
Plan and lead daily practices and all team activities
Coach and manage all scheduled games and competitions
Build and sustain a positive, disciplined, and team‑first culture
Oversee all levels of the program (e.g., varsity, sub‑varsity) to ensure alignment and development
Manage program budget, equipment, and uniforms
Coordinate offseason training, camps, and player development opportunities
Engage with players, families, and the school community to promote the program
Organize and oversee the end‑of‑season banquet
Ensure full compliance with school, district, and state athletic policies
Work Schedule

Hours are variable and include evenings, weekends, and offseason commitments based on program needs.
Qualifications / Preferred Experience

Proven success as a basketball coach, preferably at the high school varsity level or higher
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a competitive, respected basketball program
Strong knowledge of modern basketball strategies, player development, and strength/conditioning principles
Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to develop assistant coaches and create alignment across all program levels
Experience in program management, including budgeting, scheduling, and community engagement
Commitment to the academic success, character, and overall development of student‑athletes
Must meet all district and state requirements for coaching positions
