Responsibilities
Ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation, company policies and promoting a safe work environment.
Repair and maintain heavy equipment (trucks, wheel loaders, and other operating equipment) and perform miscellaneous work as required.
Complete necessary paperwork and communicate to management any maintenance needed.
Adhere to all safety regulations set by the company.
Maintain a clean work environment including all equipment and the facility.
Accurately keep and submit maintenance needs forms, parts and service work orders, invoices, and safety documentation.
The mechanic will work in varying weather conditions, in dust and noisy areas, with substantial walking, bending, stooping, lifting, and working in awkward or strained positions. The role may involve work around trucks and machinery and will require overtime and occasional weekends as business needs dictate.
Qualifications
1–3 years of experience with diesel trucks and various heavy equipment; experience on ready‑mix trucks highly desirable.
Knowledge and experience in brake service and repair, proper service of equipment, electrical knowledge, troubleshooting of all equipment, and machine shop familiarity.
CDL license is a plus.
Must have own tools to work on heavy equipment.
Preference for forklift certification.
