Material Handler – Full Time – Morgan City, LA
Job Description
This full‑time role supports warehouse operations by managing the movement and storage of materials. The position requires on‑site presence, Monday‑Friday 8 AM–5 PM with potential overtime, on‑call for nights, weekends, and holidays, and may require work during Oceaneering holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities
Safely load, unload, move, and store material inside the warehouse.
Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking and reporting discrepancies.
Organize work area by picking, packing, and preparing inventory accurately and timely.
Examine shipments against manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
Create and maintain shipping data for accurate records.
Select appropriate shipping methods based on item nature and delivery requirements.
Coordinate with establishment representatives to resolve damage, shortages, or non‑conformance issues.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
Use hand trucks, sorting bins, etc., to transport materials to departments.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
Collaborate with team members and other departments for seamless operations.
Perform additional tasks as required to support organizational objectives.
Requirements
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Availability for on‑call rotation covering nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high‑energy environment.
Excellent detail orientation and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills for internal systems.
Competent lifting and shifting heavy objects, standing, walking, bending for extended periods.
Capability to work in diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
Ability to perform tasks at elevated heights and near water.
