About The Payroll Specialist Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accurate processing of wages, deductions and tax withholdings. This role is responsible for maintaining employee payroll records, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and delivering excellent support to employees.
Key Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly payroll with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain and update payroll records (new hires, terminations, status changes).
Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions and timekeeping.
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll regulations.
Support internal and external payroll audits.
Process wage garnishments in accordance with court orders.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in ADP Workforce Now, including ticket management.
Administer tuition reimbursement payments per company policy.
Review and process travel and entertainment expense reimbursements and NSF transactions daily.
Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll information.

Qualifications & Skills
Required
A bachelor’s degree in business related field or equivalent level of education and experience.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
2+ years of payroll processing or related experience
Strong understanding of payroll taxes, deductions, and compliance requirements
Knowledge of accounting principles including debits and credits
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll systems
Well, organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work to time sensitive deadlines
Ability to handle confidential information
Ability to work well independently and in groups.
Fluent in English; bilingual a plus
Ability to lift 10–20 lbs., stand for extended periods.
Preferred
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
Experience with HRIS and accounting system integrations
Banking or financial services experience
Schedule
Full-time Position
Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm; flexibility for evenings/weekends as required.
