Trident Consulting is seeking a Senior Accountant (Accounts Payable) for one of our clients in San Francisco, CA, a global leader in business and technology services.

Duration: 5+ Months (Extension possible)
Employment Type: Contract
About the Role
The client is seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to support the Accounts Payable (AP) function while covering for an AP Manager on parental leave. This role is part of the Finance team and focuses on driving accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within the AP department.
You will collaborate cross‑functionally with Accounting, Supply Chain, Operational Markets, and FP&A to ensure smooth AP operations and adherence to financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
Review and approve invoices under $25K, including 2‑way and 3‑way matching.
Support AP Manager responsibilities, including batch payment processing.
Prepare multi‑period accounting workbooks and coordinate with FP&A.
Partner with cross‑functional teams to resolve discrepancies and issues.
Act as a point of contact for troubleshooting complex AP‑related matters.
Ensure compliance with SOX, US GAAP, and company policies.
Deliver timely and effective support to internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
3+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting exposure.
Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes and controls.
Experience with invoice processing, including 2‑way and 3‑way matching.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Experience with inventory transactions and billing processes.
Background in working with large, fast‑paced organizations (e.g., Microsoft, Google, Meta).
