Job Overview
Facilities Technician I maintains, services, and conducts minor repairs on buildings and equipment. Performs a variety of semi‑skilled duties in the areas of painting and plastering.
Key Responsibilities
Cuts and maintains lawns and grass, rakes leaves, and cares for plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Determines appropriate plants or shrubs for walkways or garden areas. Provides grounds maintenance in all seasons and is responsible for snow and dirt removal. Keeps the grounds and environment of a facility clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy.
Common area and event waste removal, floor cleaning, event furniture setup, and clean‑up.
Operates light trucks and assorted power equipment and performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment.
Essential Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
0–1 years of related experience.
Ability to work under close supervision and follow detailed instructions.
Valid driver’s license (as required by site).
Preferred Qualifications
Vocational training or certification in building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
Forklift or aerial lift certification.
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Performance Expectations
Complete work orders with minimal supervision.
Proactively identify and address facility issues.
Accurately document maintenance activities.
Prioritize safety in all tasks performed.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Work Environment
The position is based in a manufacturing facility and includes exposure to noise, temperature variations, and airborne particles.
May involve working in confined spaces, on rooftops, or using ladders and lifts.
Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
May require after‑hours response or weekend shifts depending on facility needs.
