Maintenance Handyman / Large Animal Technician
to support our expanding 7-doctor veterinary hospital.
This is a unique, hands‑on role ideal for someone who enjoys facility maintenance, ranch work, and working around large animals. The position is primarily focused on maintenance (90%), with occasional support for large animal care (10%).
If you’re dependable, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working outdoors and around livestock, this is a great opportunity to join a fast‑paced, team‑oriented veterinary practice.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance (Primary Focus)
Perform routine maintenance and repairs (plumbing, carpentry, general upkeep)
Repair and maintain doors, gates, fencing, kennels, and livestock areas
Assist with renovations, upgrades, and equipment installations
Monitor building systems and report major repair needs
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Perform landscaping duties including mowing and weed eating
Large Animal & Property Support (Secondary)
Assist with fencing, stalls, pens, and property upkeep
Support daily livestock care (feeding, turnout, general wellbeing)
Monitor animal health and report concerns to veterinary staff
Assist during veterinary visits and treatments when needed
Clean and maintain barns, stalls, and livestock handling areas
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Previous handyman, maintenance, ranch, or farm experience preferred
Comfortable working with large animals (horses, cattle, goats, pigs, sheep)
Reliable, punctual, and self‑motivated
Ability to lift 80+ lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Positive attitude and team‑oriented mindset
