Modern Device Management Engineer

As a Modern Device Management (MDM) Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining MDM solutions for an organization’s managed devices. Your responsibilities will ensure seamless device management, security, and user experience. This role provides collaboration and support with Tier 1 issue discovery, assists in automation job problem solving, and serves as a backup for other functions within IT Asset Management, performing other duties as assigned. You will work with multiple areas of IT and external vendors, collaborating with the appropriate individuals to ensure tasks and solutions are successful.
Responsibilities

Building and designing scalable business solutions that incorporate tools and automation in the endpoint and infrastructure space.
Assessing, architecting, designing, and implementing end‑user computing management solutions across tablets, smartphones, desktops, and laptops.
Executing and maturing the company’s Windows patching program to reduce vulnerabilities and drive modernization.
Developing and implementing endpoint automation solutions using expert‑level scripting, Power Automate, and Graph API to streamline endpoint management processes.
Designing and enforcing conditional access policies and Intune security baselines to ensure the highest level of endpoint device security.
Managing mobile device platforms, including Apple Business and Microsoft Intune, to enable secure and productive mobile work environments.
Demonstrating a deep understanding of Windows Autopilot, Windows 365, and infrastructure patching to keep endpoints up‑to‑date and secure.
Providing high‑level troubleshooting expertise to resolve complex endpoint issues efficiently and minimize downtime.
Driving innovation within the infrastructure by staying current with emerging technologies and recommending their adoption when appropriate.
Collaborating with IT leadership to develop and execute a strategic roadmap for modernizing and enhancing the endpoint infrastructure.
Creating and maintaining operating‑system images and Autopilot deployment methodology.
Creating automated software and solution packages for deployment to enterprise devices.
Managing and overseeing mass software update and deployment efforts for enterprise devices.
Generating and managing various reports as requested.
Deploying and administering virtual desktops.
Managing asset‑management deployment and administration.
Participating in major incident response activities; ensuring timely remediation of outages, performing root‑cause analysis, and developing long‑term solutions to mitigate future risk.
Researching complex technical problems and identifying, implementing, and communicating fixes.
Serving as a technical resource for projects of varying length and complexity, including new hardware/software solution introduction, Windows/Office 365 upgrades, and other technology advancement initiatives.
Partnering with the IT Security team to engineer solutions for end‑user device security.
Serving as the technical escalation point for large‑scale or aging end‑user problems.
Acting as the third line of support after all tiered resources have been exhausted.
Partnering with third‑party vendors to deliver results in various support and project‑based initiatives of varying length.
Writing, editing, and maintaining policies and procedure documentation.
Performing all other duties as assigned.
Skills And Experience

Minimum of two years of related work experience.
Advanced troubleshooting skills for complex technical end‑user device issues in a large‑distributed environment.
Experience with deployment and administration of virtual desktop solutions.
Experience with environmental management and administration via Azure Active Directory.
Basic understanding of network infrastructure and protocols.
Solid knowledge of Patch My PC (PMPC) or other third‑party patching solutions.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Intune or SCCM.
Solid knowledge of administrative tools such as Admin by Request.
Experience with ServiceNow or asset management systems.
Advanced knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
Demonstrated professional and interpersonal skills, including effective customer service, creative problem solving, effective written and verbal communication, planning and organizing cross‑functional teamwork, attention to detail and quality, and ability to self‑manage.
Detail oriented with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Ability to work occasional after‑hours and weekends.
Occasional travel required.
Education And Qualifications

Associate’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
