Summary / Objective
National Park College is seeking an Athletic Trainer/Facilities Manager. This position is responsible for preventing, recognizing, managing, and rehabilitating injuries in student‑athletes across all intercollegiate sports. The trainer will work closely with coaches, and athletic department staff to ensure the safety, well‑being, and optimal performance of student‑athletes. This position involves hands‑on care, administrative duties, and education regarding injury prevention and recovery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide athletic training services for all college‑sanctioned sports, including practices, games, and special events

Evaluate and treat injuries and illnesses of student‑athletes and make referrals to appropriate medical professionals when necessary

Develop and implement rehabilitation and treatment programs for injured athletes

Maintain accurate medical records, injury reports, and treatment logs in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA regulations

Coordinate and conduct pre‑participation physicals and medical screenings

Collaborate with coaches on injury prevention strategies, training modifications, and return‑to‑play decisions

Supervise athletic training room operations, inventory, and equipment

Travel with teams to away games and tournaments as needed

Educate student‑athletes on wellness, injury prevention, and safe training practices

Ensure compliance with NJCAA and state regulations regarding athletic training practices

Secure the gym to only NPC employees and students

Prepares the gym for home basketball games

Oversee work study employees and ensure the gym complex is kept clean

Will perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

Strong clinical evaluation and decision‑making skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with athletes, coaches, and medical personnel

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel

Organizational skills to manage multiple sports programs and administrative duties

Teamwork and excellent communication skills are a must

Education and Experience
Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field, Current BOC

Current BOC (Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer) certification

Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of [State Name]

CPR/AED certification for Healthcare Providers

Preferred:

Master’s degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or a related field

Experience in a collegiate athletic setting

Familiarity with NJCAA rules and regulations

Physical Requirements

May require physical exertion, including lifting equipment and assisting athletes

Exposure to varying weather conditions during practices and events
