Starting Pay Rate: $17.50 hourly

The Crescent is the newest luxury hotel joining the award-winning Turning Stone Enterprises resort in Verona, NY, opening in June 2026 as part of its transformative Evolution. This sophisticated property will feature more than 250 guest rooms and suites, upscale dining at Salt, and direct access to the state-of-the-art Grand Expo Convention Center.

In this guest-facing role, you will warmly welcome visitors, assist with luggage, and escort guests to their rooms while sharing information about hotel amenities and services. With a focus on attentive, personalized service, you’ll ensure every guest feels valued from arrival to departure. Ideal candidates enjoy interacting with people, take pride in delivering exceptional service, and are passionate about creating a welcoming and seamless experience for every guest.

What you will do as a Bell Captain

Greets guests with warmth and sincerity, welcomes them to the Hotel, and pleasantly escorts them to their room(s). Always carries on a pleasant conversation with guest while providing service.

Arrives promptly in response to guest’s request, if not within 5 minutes. Guest is always notified of the delay. Always uses discretion with guests and guest information.

Always handles and transports guest luggage in a cautious, conscientious manner to avoid damage to luggage or contents.

Always informs guests of the Hotel services offered, effectively and thoroughly communicates room features. Effectively answers any questions guests may have.

Properly stores luggage for guests.

Consistently treats guest in a pleasant manner and inquires about the guest’s stay.

Always address guest by name during closing.

Assists Door Person when needed.

Consistently stays posted in approved area. Promptly answers telephone calls at the bell desk.

Always uses proper discretion with guest information.

Always schedules employees to ensure that there is a sufficient workforce available to provide the most efficient guest service possible.

Effectively assists in training all bell staff in the proper performance of all job duties to ensure that all guests are treated in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.

Continually monitors supplies including forms, luggage tags, etc. to ensure an ample supply is available at all times.

Accurately and thoroughly completes all required operational forms and reports.

Consistently works with Group Sales Department to ensure luggage on Tour buses is loaded and unloaded in a timely manner.

Promptly coordinates the return of luggage left behind by a guest.

Cooperates and communicates effectively with supervisor and makes appropriate recommendations regarding personnel matters.

Work Experience

Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.

Must have experience in a guest contact position.

Must possess excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Must speak and understand English.

Prior experience as a Bell Person preferred.

Demonstrates ability to effectively multi-task duties.

Previous Hotel experience preferred.

Previous experience in a Team Leader/Supervisory position preferred.

Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
