An ideal solution for a wide variety of folding carton, beverage, and custom applications, unbleached paperboard provides superior package integrity and is designed to deliver outstanding package and packaging line efficiency and performance.
This position is responsible for managing supply planning responsibilities for Unbleached Paperboard. The successful candidate will be responsible for detailed scheduling, including trimming, sequencing, and sourcing of production schedules, in a centralized environment. The master scheduler/planner will work closely with the materials management, other paper machine supply planners, account executives, converting facilities, and logistics to effectively execute all planning functions at the Unbleached primary manufacturing locations. The planner/scheduler, paperboard procurement team, and customer service will coordinate facility activities dependent on the schedule, such as, secondary scheduling, make‑ups, alternate sourcing and load planning.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Job functions include, but are not limited to, the following.
Understand downstream and upstream dependencies, i.e., production processes, load planning, and transportation planning.
Manage block schedules to optimize dates and meet customer commitments.
Work closely with the remote facility to learn and understand the manufacturing processes and help facilitate scheduling changes for smooth transitions.
Understand the Make-to-Stock, Make-to-Order, and Vendor-Managed processes and support domestic customer service teams.
Fully master Optivision and SAP planning processes.
Translate the master plan into machine schedules.
Monitor and correct imbalances to ensure schedule accuracy.
Work with sales and customer service to manage customer allocations.
Manage alerts associated with roll supply between the primary mills and remote sheeting locations to meet production schedules.
Participate in weekly business calls.
Be available for on‑call/weekend duty and team coverage.
Lead, support, and participate in project work as available to further personal development and exposure to other parts of GPI.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years’ relevant supply chain experience:
Paperboard scheduling, trimming, and supply planning
Customer Service
Transportation planning/management
Familiar with end-to-end supply chain concepts.
Ability to present self professionally, take the initiative to get the job done.
Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to learn & master SAP, paper trimming software, and supporting ERP systems.
Demonstrated data‑based analytical skills & problem‑solving.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience:

SCHEDULE DEMANDS
General schedule is an 8‑hour M‑F assignment; however, the employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail. Travel (6-12 trips per year) will be required for this position.
Pay Range:
$66,300.00 - $88,400.00
