POSITION SUMMARY
The Hatchery Supervisor is responsible for the safety, efficiency and oversight of the hatchery team, as well as scheduling deliveries and equipment. The role also involves assisting the Hatchery Manager in all production needs in order to meet the divisional goals and standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and complete performance appraisals for all team members under supervision according to Pilgrim’s personnel policies and divisional guidelines.
Conduct one‑on‑ones, team huddles and go‑and‑see walks with hatchery team members.
Fill in during the absence of the Hatchery Manager and be certified (or willing to obtain certification) for vaccine mixing and inovoject operations (Independence only).
Maintain weekly time and attendance records on Kronos and fill out the weekly inventory information on the M‑Tech/SAP system.
Schedule all production team members weekly, considering production rotation, shift rotation, weekend transfer crew and communicate the schedule.
Schedule, set and project eggs/hatch and manage egg and chick inventory.
Train new team members and enforce all company personnel, safety, quality and food‑safety policies.
Assist the maintenance department when needed.
Manage all DOT hatchery drivers, ensuring DOT compliance.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Rotate on the manager on‑call schedule for weekends and be able to complete an egg set over the weekend when egg supply dictates, including use of Saturday egg pick‑ups.

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that fosters effective and cooperative teamwork with customers, clients, coworkers and leadership.
Participate in process improvement and problem solving using continuous‑improvement and rational‑thinking methodologies such as Six Sigma.
Recognize and act on incidents and safety risks, consistently practicing and enforcing safe work habits and promoting those habits throughout the organization.
Follow all company animal‑welfare guidelines.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
College degree preferred.
2 years of related experience required.
Class A CDL preferred or willing to obtain (Arcadia only).
Flexibility with schedule required (weekend/afternoon work).
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good leadership and people‑skills.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
