Job Purpose
Provides servers and guests with a clean and stocked bar area

Job Duties and Responsibilities
(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)

Ensures safe and sanitary bar areas

by cleaning bar and counter surfaces, emptying ashtrays, cleaning cups, glasses and utensils, sweeping floors, transporting bus tubs to the dishwashing station, and disposing of trash as needed.

Ensures bar area is stocked and clean

by placing delivered water, bar supplies, ice, cups, glasses and condiments in the appropriate areas of the Bar, chopping and slicing garnishes, and cleaning coffee machines, soda dispensers, beer dispensers, ice bins, sinks, dishwasher, shelves and counters according to established procedures.

Provides guests with service

by acknowledging and welcoming guests entering the bar, assisting the bartender with taking beverage orders, delivering requested beverages, and responding to guest requests.

Promotes guest relations

by responding to guest requests, offering appropriate up to date information regarding sports events, promotional contests and giveaways, providing requested assistance and product knowledge, and treating guests in a friendly and courteous manner.

Ensures responsible alcohol beverage service policies are followed

by asking for proper identification from guests that appear to be under the age of 30, monitoring alcohol consumption, ensuring guests do not become intoxicated following established procedures, stopping alcohol service at the designated time, and clearing the room of all alcoholic containers, glasses and bottles for each venue at the time specified.

Job Specifications
Education and Experience

County of San Diego Food Handler Card

CA ABC Responsible Beverage Service Certification

21 years of age

Bussing experience

Bar or grill experience

Guest service experience

Skills and Knowledge

Ability to work effectively with team members and guests

Ability to communicate effectively in the English language

Ability to maintain professionalism and composure

Ability to understand verbal directives and written instructions

Ability to routinely lift and carry 50 pounds

Ability to accept constructive criticism

Ability to perform basic data entry

Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours at a time

Ability to bend, stoop, push and pull

Ability to work in a smoking environment

Ability to appear for work on time
