Job Summary
Performs diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) exams. Exercises professional judgment in procedures, MRI safety considerations, and provides a quality patient care experience. Work Shift: 7 days on, 7 days off Wednesday - Tuesday. Mon - Thurs: Noon - 10:00 pm; Fri, Sat, Sun: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm.
Responsibilities
Initiates life support measures as necessary. Interacts effectively with patients and their families, physicians, and other health care workers. Has extensive knowledge of operation of all MRI equipment. Positions the patient and provides comfort during the exam. Administers contrast material as required. Obtains patient history and clinical indication for MRI study. Accurately documents in patient records. Utilizes electronic medical record software for accurate scheduling and billing procedures. Possesses the ability to professionally obtain information from patients or their responsible parties to further improve personalized treatment and care. Works to develop an understanding of the patient's physical and emotional status. Extends knowledge of cross-section anatomy. Works well with all ages of patients. May perform mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x‑ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures. Possible on‑call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays as needs may require.
Qualifications
Completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA or JRCERT approved school.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) training or experience preferred.
ARRT or ARMRIT certification required at hire.
MRI certified or certification to be obtained within two years post‑hire preferred.
ND medical imaging licensure required if working in North Dakota; Iowa permit required if working in Iowa.
Basic Life Support (BLS) within six weeks of employment and recertified as required.
