
Part Time Banquet Server ~Holiday inn Gaithersburg~ (copy)

This position is responsible for serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. The role adheres to all health regulations and local liquor laws, and follows B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group brand standards to ensure guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Guest Service: Anticipate and respond to guests in a friendly, positive, and timely manner; provide the highest quality service using proper serving techniques; work as a team player and contribute to other departments when necessary; follow the guest service recovery program.
Serving Duties: Listen attentively, follow directions from the banquet captain and event planner, use proper serving techniques; set up, maintain, and take down banquet rooms after service; bus trays promptly and keep the banquet area clean and presentable; adhere to health regulations and licensing laws.
Expense Control: Use banquet collateral and equipment properly; adhere to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
Safety: Dispense and serve food and beverages safely; maintain a clean and safe work area; follow all incident procedures; know hotel emergency procedures.
Work‑load Management: Plan, organize, and prioritize work duties to meet required volume; adhere to attendance, grooming, and general work rules; attend required meetings.
Collaboration: Assist bartenders and work as a team player to ensure all guest needs are met; complete all assigned duties within or outside the normal scope of responsibilities.
Side Work: Complete all required side work; take initiative to assist wherever necessary; contribute to guest experience success.
Required Skills and Experience
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
TIPS or CARE beverage service certification desired, or ability to obtain certification required.
One or more years of previous guest service experience.
Exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform in a repetitious, fast‑paced environment.
Ability to speak, understand, and write English to meet guest needs.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lb regularly and up to 75 lb occasionally.
Ability to complete physically demanding responsibilities including walking, standing, carrying, and moving continuously throughout the shift.
Preferred: One or more years of serving experience in a banquet environment.
