
Shuttle Supervisor

Responsibilities
Manage the operation of local shuttle drivers for assigned customer accounts, as well the administrative, organizational, and system handling of transportation activities
Coordinate with Regional Supervisor and Transportation Manager in dispatching local operations to ensure that customer expectations are met and all relevant regulations are followed
Ensure adequate staffing is in place to meet/match customer demands, which will most likely vary based on projected daily volumes
Coordinate the implementation of effective safety & compliance programs with core team
Monitor hours of service laws along with all other regulations for assigned drivers, and report violations as needed. Ensure other safety and compliance deficiencies are reported/corrected as well
Be a primary contact and direct supervisor for local shuttle drivers & yard jockeys on dedicated accounts assigned to this position. This includes employee reviews, counseling, and all other clerical/management oversight necessary.
Develop and maintain proper, productive, and professional relationships with customers and their representatives
Keep lines of communication open and keep customers aware of load status as requested by customers and/or if situations change
Work with customers, shipping/receiving locations and drivers to secure loads and communicate any load/unloading appointments
Share in off-hours/weekend call duties with other staff members and management
Responsible for assuring drivers clearly understand and comply with customer instructions attached to load releases
Responsible for assisting in the responsible allocation of assets, drivers and available business in such a way as to minimize operational expenses while maximizing utilization
Foster an environment of mutual respect throughout the organization
Maintain a high degree of integrity at all times and in all circumstances
Maintain a high degree of confidentiality with issues related to drivers (private and personal matters), rates, customers, and other proprietary items
Provide administrative staff with all necessary documentation and information on all loads to ensure proper, timely and accurate billing by ensuring drivers are providing the same in a timely fashion
Professionally perform all duties in a manner which promotes the image, growth, profitability and success of the company

Qualifications
Strong computer skills & ability to learn company’s system
Organizational - ability to administer, organize, and file paperwork
Communicative - ability to communicate via phone and email effectively and efficiently
Multi-Tasking Capability – ability to handle more than one task at a time
Initiative – ability to self-start and work with minimum direct supervision
Flexibility – ability to adjust to changes in work assignments and scheduled hours, including weekends
Training and Experience
High school diploma required; Bachelor’s level degree preferred
Experience in transportation as a driver, dispatcher, or in a supporting role
