Dock Associate
Chair King Backyard Store, Houston, TX, United States
This position involves the preparation work necessary for delivery of merchandise as well as basic warehouse functions. The position will occasionally require the employee to work overtime hours.
Essential Duties:
Unwraps and assembles furniture at the assigned dock.
Cleans and inspects merchandise for errors and defects.
Touch-up merchandise as needed
Re-wraps merchandise for delivery
Stages merchandise for delivery truck loading
Assist with Customer Pick-ups (CPUs)
Unload Receiving inventory containers and trucks
Completes other duties as assigned by warehouse leadership team
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
