As a Fleet Equipment Manager, you will play a vital leadership role in overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and management of our field equipment, vehicles, and facilities. This position is key to ensuring the efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness of our fleet operations, supporting multiple divisions, and contributing to the company’s ongoing success. Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the Field Equipment Division, including trucks, automobiles, small engines, and related equipment.
Develop and manage the annual division budget, including cost projections and financial analysis to ensure efficient operations.
Supervise, train, and evaluate mechanics, drivers, and other field equipment personnel.
Implement and maintain preventative maintenance and repair programs for all company vehicles and equipment.
Manage inventory control for repair parts, consumables, and equipment, ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness.
Monitor and track fleet assets using GPS and related software, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Coordinate equipment mobilization to job sites and oversee yard, facility, and fuel farm operations for security and maintenance.
Ensure all licensing, registration, and compliance documentation is current and properly maintained.
Establish and oversee training and safety programs for field equipment personnel and operators.
Collaborate with other departments on strategic planning, budgeting, and business development initiatives.
Maintain accurate records, process work orders, and ensure timely reporting to accounting and management.
Support company policies, procedures, and safety standards, including participation in safety meetings and adherence to manuals and SOPs.
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of experience as an equipment manager, senior mechanic, or mechanic.
Associate degree or higher in a relevant field.
Relevant certifications for equipment and facility management.
Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under company policy.
Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency with computers, including MS Word and MS Excel.
Experience with or ability to learn CRM software and GPS tracking systems.
Demonstrated skills in inventory management and cost-benefit analysis.
Ability to foster a professional and cooperative work environment.
Hands‑on mechanical skills and willingness to perform repairs as needed.
CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
Commitment to ongoing professional development (minimum 20 hours of continuing education per year).
