Pay Rate: $16.00/hour Schedule: Part-Time, 1618 hours per week Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire Openings: 1 position Training: Virtual (evenings/weekends, aligned with scheduled shifts)
This role requires candidates to be local to the Cleveland, Ohio area. Equipment must be picked up locally, and ongoing community familiarity is essential for success in this position.
Position Overview
The Customer Service Representative assists the public, social service agencies, health providers, and other organizations by identifying and connecting individuals to health and human service resources. This role requires strong customer service skills and comfort working with individuals facing a wide range of life challenges.
The work involves responding to inquiries across multiple channelsincluding phone, email, text, and chatwhile providing accurate, unbiased, and compassionate support.
Work Schedule & Availability
Part-time: approximately 1618 hours per week
Evening and weekend availability required
Must be available:
MondayFriday: 5:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 a.m. 10:00 p.m.
Typical schedule includes:
3 weekday shifts and 1 weekend day
5-hour shifts (includes a 15-minute paid break)
Holiday availability required
Flexibility is key. The team strongly prefers candidates who can rotate between weekdays and at least one weekend day.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to inquiries using established policies and procedures
Provide information and referrals related to health and human services
Handle multi-channel communications (phone, email, text, chat)
Assess needs, identify barriers, and help callers prioritize next steps
Build action plans and connect individuals with appropriate resources
Maintain accurate, confidential records and database documentation
De-escalate difficult situations and escalate critical issues when needed
Support team productivity during high-volume periods
Participate in training, meetings, and ongoing knowledge development
Assist with community events and outreach as needed
Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of administrative, project support, or related experience
Strong communication, empathy, and customer service skills
Preferred:
Experience in health and human services
Comfort working with diverse populations and sensitive circumstances
