Job Duties
Obtains all necessary information required to maintain provider schedules.
Maintains overall coordination of provider availability to cover services as required by the practice including office hours, in-patient and out-patient, scheduled meetings and conferences, and vacation or time off.
Monitors and updates schedule throughout the day and distributes changes to all affected parties.
Anticipates patients' expectations and educational needs; understands basic requirements for all procedures performed to be able to answer basic patient inquiries or to direct the inquires to the appropriate area or person.
Monitors use of scheduled time and monitors schedule for conflicts.
Updates patient charts and electronic health record information with pertinent patient and insurance information.
Attends and participates in scheduled contract, committee, and all-staff meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
2 years Experience in a healthcare setting.
Demonstrate initiative.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and timely.
Computer skills and word processing proficiency.
Knowledge and working use of medical terminology.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's Degree
4 years Experience in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of physician practice scheduling software
Physical Demands Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.Job Description Disclaimer: This position description provides the major duties/responsibilities, requirements and working conditions for the position.
