Job Description
Classification Title: Program Assistant
Classification Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
Prepare and proofread exhibition materials; manage curatorial paperwork and acquisition contracts.
Coordinate and oversee financial processes (budgets, expenditures, vendor payments) and annual budget proposals.
Schedule and manage curators' travel, appointments, and speaking engagements, including presentation materials.
Act as curatorial liaison to museum staff, volunteers, and the public; coordinate inter‑departmental interactions.
Participate in staff meetings, exhibition planning, strategic planning, finance meetings, and grant applications.
Assist in creating long‑term exhibition schedules and with monthly exhibition committee meetings.
Respond to research inquiries and public requests; disseminate exhibition information.
Supervise OPS employees, volunteers, interns, and work‑study students as needed in the curators' absence.
Salary
$20 per hour
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
BA/BS in arts administration, art history, English, history, anthropology, library science, or related field
Excellent organizational, planning, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork aptitude
Proficiency in Outlook, Teams, Zoom, TMS, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel
Knowledge of data collection methods and ability to compile and analyze data
Self‑directed and career‑minded
Excellent communication skills
Veteran's Preference
This position is eligible for Veteran's preference.
