Role and Responsibilities
As a member of our warehouse management team, our DC Manager role entails leading with a focus on safety, continuous improvement, relationship building, communication and strategic thinking. You will foster a "safety first" culture through awareness, training, and accountability. Your guidance will help other operational leaders achieve established standards of service, quality, accuracy, and productivity. Your teams will be enabled to do their best work in an environment of innovation, calculated risk, testing and learning. Getting to know your team and championing their unique strengths will motivate and inspire them to reach a higher level. With your support, both teams and individuals will improve through their clear understanding of goals and expectations, mutual accountability, and regular constructive feedback. Maintains warehousing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures. Supports the needs of all store locations in a timely fashion.
Manages safety compliance for the warehouse and upholds accountability for direct reporting departments and ensures orange compliance books are up to date.
Collaborates in achieving departmental objectives and business needs.
Supervision of staff including training and motivation to achieve warehouse and department goals.
Responsible for entry level recruitment, ensuring successful completion of the training as necessary.
Assist with associate coaching & counseling including delivering or making recommendations for disciplinary action up to and including termination in partnership with senior management and HR.
Work with the Compliance/Safety manager to develop and maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
Analyze, identify, and propose actions to increase the effectiveness of the operations departments.
Manage teams within a multi-department operation.
Adhere to all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations that pertain to warehouse operations.
Coordinate with other company departments to achieve overall company goals.
Ensures freshness of products by closely adhering to rotation and dating policy
In collaboration w/the Call Center Monitors ordering to avoid over/under stock, reports discrepancy in inventory.
Responsible for training and monitoring in the proper use of equipment to ensure safety and sanitary standards are maintained.
Responsible for compliance with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements.
Keep warehouse teams informed of all activities within their own area of responsibility.
Trains and assigns employees to specific duties, working together as a team, and follows up to ensure expected results.
Responsible for initiating and executing annual performance reviews for direct reporting departments.
Scheduling and e-time weekly maintenance and approvals.
Review seasonal and periodical labor needs and make adjustment proposals when needed.
Follow DC daily/weekly cleaning schedule.
In addition, other duties may be required as directed by your team lead, supervisor, and/or manager.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
3-5 years of experience in the manufacturing, production, or distribution environment and applicable management/supervisory experience
Bilingual English/Spanish
Must be computer literate including proficiency in MS Office, payroll, and recruitment systems.
Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to handle changing priorities and use of good judgement in stressful situations.
Ability to supervise a diverse workforce.
Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and termination.
Ability to train current and new employees in department standards and product knowledge.
Basic understanding of food safety practices and DOA standards (Quality control, Rotation, Etc.)
Maintain consistent dating of food items and ingredients.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation following DOA standards while working.
