Receiving and Delivery Clerk

The Receiving and Delivery Clerk is responsible for the disposition of duties for all Central Receiving functions, to include Postal Services, Shipping & Receiving and package deliveries.
Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Shipping and Receiving :

Receives, inspects, and verifies shipments of supplies, materials, and equipment against purchase orders and packing slips.
Reports damaged, missing, or incorrect items to the appropriate staff members and/or vendors in a timely and accurate manner.
Maintains organized records of incoming and outgoing deliveries.

Delivery and Distribution :

Delivers supplies, mail, and packages to departments across campus and satellite locations.
Ensures proper routing, delivery verification, and receipt signatures where required.
Coordinates delivery schedules to ensure efficiency and minimal disruption to college operations.
Assists with furniture or equipment relocation and setup as needed.

Vehicle and Equipment Operation :

Operates college vehicles to complete deliveries and pick-ups safely and efficiently.
Performs routine vehicle checks (fueling, cleaning, reporting maintenance needs).
Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment as needed.

Other Duties :

Provides assistance during surplus property pick-ups and transfers.
Supports facilities and custodial operations during events, emergencies, or special projects.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years or more experience in Logistics and/or Shipping & Receiving operations
A valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) or more years of experience in surplus management, fleet management, and/or shipping & receiving
Experience on a College campus
Experience working for a state agency
Experience with the State of Georgia procurement policies and practices
Experience with Workday and Asset Works
Ability to use a computer and knowledge of basic computer program functions
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift/move objects weighing 25lbs or more; ability to work in various environmental conditions; ability to drive a fork lift; ability to operate a hand truck; ability to operate a golf cart. This position will work both in the field and in an office environment.

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
