Description
The
Senior Strategic Buyer
leads sourcing strategy and supplier management for assigned commodities, driving cost optimization, supplier performance, and long-term value creation. This role partners cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure alignment with business objectives, while proactively identifying opportunities for innovation, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Advanced knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement best practices
Strong SAP and MRP system expertise
Deep understanding of manufacturing processes related to assigned commodities
Strong business acumen and ability to align sourcing strategies with organizational goals
Advanced negotiation, communication, and influencing skills
Proven ability to lead complex projects and drive measurable results
Strong analytical skills with experience in cost modeling and market analysis
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and schematics
High level of organization, attention to detail, and quality focus
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Sound decision-making ability and problem-solving skills
High ethical standards, professionalism, and resilience under pressure
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience in sourcing, purchasing, or supplier management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations
Experience in logistics or supply chain operations preferred
