.**About the Opportunity**The Part-time Research Assistant will support quantitative and qualitative research as part of the DIBI (DEFENSE INDUSTRIAL BASE INSTITUTE)’s ongoing research projects. This position will support the Institute’s Founding Director, Sr. Researchers, and Associate Director of Operations on projects that will analyze the social, economic, and physical characteristics of communities to identify priority areas for resilience-based development and devise strategies for implementing plans and projects. Additionally, will participate in a new Department of Defense project that will require research in the areas of supply chain, infrastructure, policies, and national security.*Company Description*The DIBI (DEFENSE INDUSTRIAL BASE INSTITUTE) is committed to informing and advancing societal resilience around the world. Our university-wide Institute is partnering with other leading academic research institutions, nonprofits, and the public and private sectors to devise and apply practical, interdisciplinary innovations and solutions to resilience challenges.*Additional Job Description** Candidate chosen needs to be able to arrange their schedule (20hrs) to fit between the hours of 8:30am-5:30pm (Monday-Friday). No weekends.*Requirements** Candidate with Excellent verbal and written communication skills;* Experience conducting interdisciplinary research required; experience conducting resilience research (supply chain, community resilience, infrastructure, Cyber Security)* Strong note-taking abilities and proofreading and editing skills;* Experience synthesizing large amounts of information into concise briefings or other written and oral presentations;* Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize deadlines* Ability to stay focused and excel with minimal supervision;* High level of professionalism;* Microsoft Office skills* ArcMAP GIS experience preferred but not required* U.S. citizenship is required per federal agency**Position Type**Temporary**Additional Information**Northeastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education and skills when extending an offer.Northeastern has a comprehensive benefits package for benefit eligible employees.
