Position Summary
Portland State University's Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences is seeking local Clinical Adjunct Instructors to join our instructional team. In this role,

you will contribute to graduate-level supervision of clinical practica , helping to train future speech-language pathologists in real-world clinical skills. We are looking for experienced clinicians who can provide

hands‑on supervision

in our on-campus and community clinics, as well as teach or assist with graduate seminars in their area of expertise. This adjunct position is part-time and designed for local professionals who wish to share their clinical knowledge with students in an academic setting. The Department has a vibrant graduate program that values evidence‑based practice and community engagement, regularly incorporating practicing professionals as instructors to ensure a strong clinical perspective in the curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Speech & Hearing Sciences/Communication Disorders or Audiology, or related fields.

Certification through the American Speech‑Language Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.

This position is subject to ORS 681.250(2), which states that: "No person shall practice speech‑language pathology or audiology or purport to be a speech‑language pathologist or audiologist in this state unless a person is licensed in accordance with the provisions of this chapter." Therefore, as a condition of employment, you are required to maintain an uninterrupted license for speech language pathology with the Oregon Board of Examiners.

At least three years of clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous teaching experience preferred.

PhD in SPHR/CSD, AudD, or terminal degree in a closely related field, preferred.

Compensation
Adjunct faculty are hired on a per quarter basis and paid per credit hour (currently $1,360.00 per credit), per the PSUFA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
