Manufacturing Cell Leader Apprentice — Rubber Processing

American Roller, Rock Hill, SC, United States

Based in:

Rock Hill, SC

Starting pay:

$60,000–$70,000 with scheduled increases every 3–6 months tied to your progress

Can you run a lathe in the morning and a stand‑up huddle after lunch?

If you come from the shop floor, know machining, and naturally take the lead, this program turns your hands‑on skill into frontline leadership. You’ll learn our rubber value stream end to end and grow into a production supervision role—by design.

Who we are
American Roller Company has been advancing industrial rollers and coatings since 1938. The American Roller Way—safety, quality, innovation, and people development—guides how we operate across our U.S. facilities and how we invest in long‑term careers.

What you’ll take on

Hands‑on operations: Run lathes, grinders, and rubber processing equipment to learn our processes from the inside.

Production intelligence: Grasp workflows, standards, and quality requirements; connect scheduling decisions to material flow and customer needs.

Floor leadership: Be the point person for operators—assign work, assist with setups, and troubleshoot production challenges.

Safety and quality stewardship: Live a safety‑first mindset; ensure specs are met; engage Quality and Engineering when issues surface.

Supervisor readiness: Build skills in labor planning, daily priorities, coaching, and performance discussions. No Lean background required—we’ll teach you continuous improvement.

This is not an entry‑level manufacturing job and not a desk‑only role. Expect to lead with your hands and your voice.
