
Emergency Department Tech

Position Summary
Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks an Emergency Department Technician for its Emergency department. The Technician will render direct and indirect patient care under the direction of licensed personnel, facilitate care to meet patients' daily living activity needs by providing clerical, physical, and emotional support, assist licensed personnel in the management of critically ill patients, and support the workflow of unlicensed assistive personnel.
Qualifications
Education: Preferred high school graduate or equivalent.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Minimum American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS). Emergency Department: California Emergency Medical Technician certification or CA Emergency Medical Technician–Paramedic certification, or National EMT certification.
Technical Requirements: Preferred ability to use computer charting (electronic medical record) and computer order entry.
Years of Related Work Experience: Preferred Patient Care Tech or equivalent experience in an acute care, emergency or pre‑hospital setting.
