Job Description
The Chemist III, E&L will serve as a technical resource for other analysts in the E&L group. Lead the team in analytical techniques and analysis of data. Perform sample preparation, GC-MS/FID and/or LC-MS/PDA and/or ICP-MS/OES analysis on extractable and leachable (E&L) testing of pharmaceutical containers and medical devices.
Operates and maintains laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for cGMP analysis of samples.
Prepares chemical solutions following standard operating procedures and appropriate testing methods.
Operates and maintains GC-MS/FID and/or LC-MS/PDA and/or ICP-MS/OES instruments. Write and review protocols and reports for E&L studies.
Keeps an inventory of laboratory chemicals and disposable equipment necessary for the daily functioning of the laboratory.
Perform testing in accordance with specified methods.
Document all testing activities in accordance with cGMP. Performs duties according to LSS Global direction and in compliance with cGMP and GLP regulations and SGS Integrity programs.
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science degree, minimum.
5+ years of relevant experience including at least 3 years of Extractable and Leachables (E&L) experience with related analytical instrumentation experience on GC-MS/FID and/or LC MS/PDA and/or ICP-MS/OES.
At least 1 year of protocol and report writing experience
General knowledge of chemistry and knowledge of various analytical techniques and methodologies. Required
Excellent oral and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
Ability to work well with others & independently.
Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
