Job Summary: Lawler Family Dentistry seeks a competent dental assistant who will make the dentist’s office efficient and pleasant for patients. You’ll ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. Dental assistants should be well‑organized and pay great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible.

Job Type & Pay
Full‑time (or Part‑time) • $18.00 – $23.00 per hour (starting training wage)
Responsibilities
Welcome patients into the treatment room and make them feel comfortable
Discuss the dental care plan with patients and answer any questions they have
Take vital signs and accurately record medical history
Utilize dental technologies throughout the office; must understand computers and software
Prep sterilized equipment and make it available to the dentist for exams and procedures
Assist the dentist during procedures and exams such as fillings, crowns, and dental surgeries
Post‑procedure clean‑up
Generally chairside assisting of dentists and hygienists
Properly explain each treatment and their options to patients
Chart patients when indicated for proper diagnosis
Take dental X‑rays
Qualifications
Empathy and compassion for people
Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions
Good communication skills
Strong attention to detail
A willingness to learn and grow
Knowledge of dental procedures
Ability to provide high‑quality patient care
Ability to take X‑rays, make dental impressions, read blood pressure, etc.
Ability to prepare and sterilize exam room and dentistry tools
Understanding of common dental materials
Ability to multitask and solve problems
Excellent organizational skills
Literacy in computers and applications
Tracking and ordering necessary supplies
