Job Description and Position Requirements
The Women's Health and Exercise Laboratories at Penn State University, under the co-direction of Dr. Mary Jane De Souza and Dr. Nancy Williams, is seeking an adjunct researcher with skills in the execution of human clinical research and randomized clinical trials to lead a study on perimenopausal bone health.

The project is funded by USDA and focuses on attenuation of bone loss during late perimenopause and early menopause.

Responsibilities

Manage and write Institutional Review Board (IRB) Human Study requirements, and modify protocols to accommodate study design approvals.

Oversee and lead the study, functioning as the coordinator, including working with a Clinical Research Center to manage nursing visits and day‑to‑day execution of study visits in the laboratory.

Manage database organization, data entry, and data analyses; run longitudinal statistical analyses.

Coordinate day‑to‑day study visits with all study participants.

Draft study reports.

Manage adverse study event logs.

Oversee and work with the laboratory technician on study activities.

Applicants will be involved in all stages of experimental design and analysis, scientific reporting, and will receive mentorship in these skills as well as grantsmanship. A track record of successful research in mid‑life and menopause physiology and bone health, as well as osteoporosis fields, is preferred. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to multi‑task and work as part of a team are required.
