Hope and Healing Therapist (QMHP)

Position Primary Purpose
The Hope and Healing therapist is a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) as defined by OAR 309-019-0125 and 309-039-0500. This individual is responsible for providing a range of trauma‑informed mental health services, including but not limited to counseling, crisis stabilization, and care coordination for children, adults, and families impacted by trauma and/or grief. Caseload standards for Trauma Recovery Therapists will be based on the therapist’s FTE, client acuity, and client show rates.

Accountabilities

Provide triage, assessment, individual, family, and group counseling, and crisis services for children and their families from birth to age 18.

Provide case management and consultation services for children and families as needed to ensure continuity of care.

Coordinate services with other involved professionals, including multi‑disciplinary team members.

Maintain a productivity standard of 55% or higher.

Participate in ongoing continuing education, consistent with licensure expectations, including specific training as requested.

Participate in regular, ongoing supervision.

Complete all required documentation related to client care in a timely manner, including a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan at intake and progress notes following each session.

Respond to referrals within 48 hours of receipt.

Respond to subpoenas within boundaries of competence and knowledge.

Participate in all staff and HHCC meetings at Juliette’s House.

Maintain professional license.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Demonstrated Abilities and Experience

Graduate Degree in Social Work or the counseling field, with the ability to be licensed or qualified as a QMHP.

One year of experience working with children and families in a mental health capacity.

Ability to interview clients, parents, and collateral contacts in preparing social histories and accumulating pertinent information for diagnostic purposes.

Provide counseling and case management using Evidence‑Based Practices (EMDR, PCIT, CPP, TFCBT, TBRI).

Organizational and Time management skills.

Effective written and verbal communication.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to work collaboratively/harmoniously with peers and professionals.

Maintain Confidentiality.

Attend work as scheduled/required.

General Functions

Physical:

Sitting or standing continuously for long periods, communicating verbally, communicating in writing, faculty of seeing and hearing, operating a keyboard. Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds. Occasional bending, squatting, at ground level. Occasional reaching above shoulder level to reach supplies overhead. Continuous use of hands in repetitive tasks such as simple grasping, twisting/turning of wrists, and finger dexterity to perform various duties such as data entry, writing, packaging, and mailing assembly. Continuous speaking and hearing for interactions with donors, community partners, guests, clients, volunteers, and coworkers. Continuous clarity of vision at 20 inches or less for typical daily computer tasks.

Mental:

Interpersonal interactions, problem‑solving, analyzing and evaluating, decision‑making, discretion/confidentiality, math skills, teamwork, handling of multiple tasks. Ability to conceptualize and set goals and objectives for the above accountabilities.

Environmental:

Work is performed in an office environment but also requires mobility within the office. You may be required to travel to other facilities and various locations for job‑related training, meetings, and events.

KPI 1
File documentation complete, including all required aspects as evidenced by file reviews.

KPI 2
Assessments, treatment plans completed prior to start of services and signed off within 3 business days, with appropriate services on the treatment plan.

Requirements/Conditions of Employment

Ability to pass a background check.

Valid driver’s license and insurance (If required for the position).

Eligibility for or ability to obtain an NPI.
