Lab Technician - Material Sciences
Perform and document routine quality control testing on finished goods and in-process batches. This includes testing for KU viscosity, ICI viscosity, Hegman grind, weight per gallon (density), percent solids, pH measurement, ASTM dry time testing (no-track / set-to-touch), and conducting scrub resistance and adhesion checks as needed.
Responsibilities
Conduct routine quality control testing on finished goods and in-process batches.
Perform KU viscosity and ICI viscosity tests.
Execute Hegman grind assessments.
Measure weight per gallon (density).
Determine percent solids.
Perform pH measurements.
Conduct ASTM dry time testing (no-track / set-to-touch).
Perform scrub resistance and adhesion checks as necessary.
Document all testing procedures and results accurately.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills Needed
Expertise in coating, adhesive, and polymer testing.
Proficiency in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Experience in quality control processes.
Solid understanding of chemistry and viscosity testing.
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
Need to have 2+ years of experience in coatings, paint, adhesives, or polymer laboratory work.
Experience with waterborne systems preferred.
Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Franklin, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
