Position Summary
Under the direction of the Shop Manager, the Electric Motor Winder is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and rewinding a variety of electro‑mechanical equipment. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who thrives in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect electro‑mechanical equipment for damage and electrical malfunctions
Test winding conditions according to EASA standards
Document motor data including electro‑magnetic characteristics and operating conditions
Dismantle and strip damaged or unserviceable equipment
Prepare and inspect reusable parts for rewinding
Perform rewinding using proper insulating techniques
Test rewound equipment and document results
Operate specialized equipment such as winding machines, surge testers, core‑loss testers, ovens, cranes, forklifts, and power tools
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Adhere to company policies and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma required; Technical Certification or Associate's Degree preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude required
Prior experience as a motor winder a plus, but willing to train
Experience in industrial, electro‑mechanical, manufacturing, or distribution environments preferred
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office is a plus
Self‑starter with the ability to work independently
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
