Opto-Mechanical Assembler

Position Summary
The Opto-Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for assembling, inspecting, and performing acceptance testing on complex opto-mechanical systems. This role requires the ability to work independently using engineering drawings, bills of materials, work instructions, test procedures, and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Build and validate precision opto-mechanical assemblies in strict accordance with established procedures
Perform optical alignment using specialized equipment such as interferometers, radius benches, alignment telescopes, and autocollimators
Use standardized tools and electronic equipment to complete mechanical assemblies
Conduct in-process inspections and tests throughout the production cycle
Collaborate with engineers on special builds and experimental projects following detailed instructions
Required Skills
Strong experience with optical alignment and measurement equipment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
High attention to detail and precision workmanship
Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in opto-mechanical assembly or related field
Associate degree (2-year) in a related science or technical discipline required
