
BIM Draftsman

This position requires strong CAD skills as well as the ability to communicate with all personnel on the design team, including architects, customers, and vendors. The BIM draftsman will be responsible for creating shop drawings, spool sheets and itemized reports for material purchasing.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Transform construction document designs into constructible shop drawings for field install
Work directly with the project management team to meet project needs
Stay up to date on industry standards and local codes
Utilize AutoCAD to create custom reports for material acquisition
Work with other department employees to provide a smooth transition between the design and construction phases of a job
Flexibility to visit jobsites to capture field conditions for use in the design phase of projects
Job Requirements:
Educational Requirements:
A.A.S. in Drafting and Design or greater is preferred
Experience Requirements:
2 years in a construction trade
Required Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit (optional)
Good written and oral communications skills, including the ability to work equally well with potential and existing customers, support team members, and the general public
Understanding of, and experience in, implementation of industry standards and local codes
Team oriented
Working Conditions:
The primary work environment is an air-conditioned office setting. On occasion it is required to work non-air-conditioned spaces, roofs, ladders, vertical lifting equipment, and subject to all weather conditions.
