Machine Operator – 1st Shift – Coating
Manufacturing Technician
1st shift: 6:00am to 2:00pm, Monday to Friday. This role is in the Coating Department.

SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Technician maintains high sanitary standards throughout preparation, set‑up, and operation of the designated jobs, while meeting high‑quality manufacturing specifications within a safe work environment. The Technician drives continuous improvement in safety, quality, appearance, reliability, and cost. Advancement to Technology III includes continued responsibilities and leadership development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate and monitor assigned machine(s) to detect product defects and/or machine malfunctions.

Troubleshoot issues related to product quality, formulation, and machine performance.

Perform job duties within the established quality control guidelines of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Complete all job‑related documentation accurately and timely.

Maintain high sanitary standards of the workspace, equipment, and materials at all times.

Perform cleaning duties of the workspace before, during, and after processing a new job.

Produce products that are defect‑free, properly identified, and within the established standards of the master batch record.

Utilize hand tools, power tools, pallet jacks, and other tools as required to perform essential job duties.

Notify supervisor or manager if any discrepancies arise, such as safety, quality, operations, or health concerns.

Apply basic mathematics and algebra.

Follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines at all times.

Adapt work schedule flexibly to meet business needs.

TECHNICAL & OPERATING TASKS

Review and begin building knowledge of required SOP and cGMP guidelines.

Operate assigned machine(s) and perform operation, assembly, and disassembly.

Maintain a clean and safe workspace.

Build partnerships through teamwork and communication.

Complete all training guide requirements.

Accurate documentation is required.

Independently troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions, product defects, and formulation complications.

Know safety policy and lockout/tagout procedures.

Perform quality verification (e.g., weights, visual inspections).

Complete all established Technician I requirements within 24 months.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Associates must read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and communicate effectively in written and verbal English to meet training, safety, and quality requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Stand 8–10 hours per day, use hands to touch, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, and twist, walk, talk, and hear. Frequently lift or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally push/pull objects weighing up to 80 pounds. PPE required includes hearing protection and a P100 respirator.
