Job Summary
This position works collaboratively with licensed nurses and Patient Care Technicians to provide patient care through the nursing process, ensuring a safe environment and delivering basic care within the scope of practice.

Qualifications

Education : High school diploma or equivalent. Completed the sophomore year with a hospital‑based clinical rotation of a National League of Nursing accredited school program and student in good standing with the school of nursing. Preferred: Completed the junior year with a hospital‑based clinical rotation of a National League of Nursing accredited school program.

Work Experience : None required.

Certification : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) : Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications; effective verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; good judgement and monitoring of patient condition changes; ability to adapt to change positively.

Job Duties

Maintain a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.

Assist with the plan of care as delegated by the staff nurse within scope of practice.

Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety criteria appropriate to the ages of patients served.

Communicate with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.

Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials.

Perform other related duties as required.

Physical and Environmental Demands
Medium work with occasional lifting of 20 to 50 pounds and frequent lifting of 10 to 25 pounds. Routine duties involve exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue, and potential exposure to hazardous medications or waste.
