Responsibilities
Process and respond to requests for medical records accurately and efficiently.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding patient information privacy, including HIPAA.
Maintain detailed and organized records of all releases and communications.
Verify requester identification and the validity of requests prior to releasing information.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to coordinate the release of information.
Handle sensitive patient information with discretion and professionalism at all times.
Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to medical records requests.
Provide excellent customer service to patients and external requestors regarding medical records inquiries.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma required.
Training and Experience: On-the-job training. Previous ROI experience preferred.
Job Knowledge: Ability to type at minimum 40 words per minute. Familiarity with computer programs and office equipment (photocopier, fax machine, microfiche, etc.) preferred.
Good physical and mental health.
Ability to work under pressure.
Acute sense of responsibility, loyalty, and dedication.

Good oral and written communication skills.
