
Mental Health Aide

Essential Functions
The Mental Health Aide is responsible for assisting the Registered Nurse (RN) with direct and indirect patient care activities. Assists in the delivery of care to the psychiatric patients who have acute behavioral disorder or an exacerbation of a chronic psychiatric illness. Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADL's), personal care, comfort measures, certain behavioral interventions and tests/procedures under the direction and supervision of a RN.
Minimum Qualifications
Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent or 2 years of work experience.
Licenses and Certifications
Required: Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (CPR, BLS) – American Heart Association
Required: Non‑Violent Crisis Prevention (CPI, NCI‑CPI) – Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI training recommended during orientation period)
