Fabrication Tech/Welder

Summary
This position is primarily focused on fabricating parts for small production runs based on customer orders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Fabricates parts as ordered including aluminum battery boxes, stainless steel tank straps, tread plate aluminum deck plates, and other parts as necessary.
Performs welds and other processes related to the Fabrication shop as needed.
Operates press brakes & heavy machinery to form parts & product per requirements.
Cleans shop work area as required for safe housekeeping practices.
Assists other Fab shop employees with their orders/jobs as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma, or GED equivalent.
Welding certification required, with minimum testing at shop to occur before hire.
Strong listening and communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively by setting priorities.
Positive attitude and customer service focus in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to operate MIG welders, Shears, and Press Brakes.
Detail oriented and self-starter skill set.
Ability to work safely in the presence of shop machinery.
Shift/Schedule
Four-day, 9½ hour shifts: Mon‑Thurs, half‑day Fridays 7:45 am – noon.

Working Conditions
Job will include long periods of standing, walking, reaching, stooping/kneeling, and bending. Stair climbing and walking on uneven surfaces will also be present. Subject to heat/cold conditions in warehouse. Possible burns from welding equipment. Using heavy machinery with possible crush injuries—precautions must be taken. Moderate use of hands, arms & legs will be needed, with repetitive pressing & pressure. Must have good balance for standing on one leg for the Cincinnati press brake operation. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance, or 25 lbs. by self.
