Practising Law Institute (PLI) is a nonprofit organization that educates lawyers and professionals. We are looking for an Accounting Intern to join our Manhattan-based team for the summer.
Internship Program Summary
The internship starts on Monday, June 8 and ends on Monday, August 24. It is a paid position with a salary of $18 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
Refresh and organize the Accounting Manual to ensure it is clean, easy to follow, and user‑friendly
Use AI‑enabled tools and features to enhance documentation, workflows, and instructional content
Incorporate short videos, tutorials, and training materials from our SaaS vendors to complement written documentation
Collaborate with Accounting and Finance team members to understand current processes and identify opportunities for improvement
Test and refine documentation to ensure clarity and effectiveness
Qualifications
Currently a college student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, and expected to graduate in 2026
Available for the full internship term (June 8 – August 24) and required to work Monday – Thursday, 9 am – 5 pm (with a one‑hour unpaid lunch break)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with accounting or finance software is a plus
Curiosity about AI tools and a willingness to experiment with new technologies
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Recommendation letters from school and/or previous employer available upon request
No prior professional experience required; this is an entry‑level internship
