Summary
Must be able to set‑up and operate two different types of machines including VMCs, HMCs, TMCs, CO2 lasers, fiber lasers, break press, and/or robotic welders. Produce machined parts by setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines; maintain quality and safety standards; keep records; maintain equipment and supplies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform light program edit on mills, lathes, lasers and/or robotic welders by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and simple trigonometry; proving part programs.

Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

Maintain equipment by completing the daily preventive maintenance requirements.

Set‑up machines by installing and adjusting three‑ and four‑jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, indicating vice or workpiece, bar feeders, and cutting conditions.

Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).

Verify settings by measuring positions, first‑run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards. Able to read micrometers and calipers.

Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Document actions by completing production and quality logs.

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Follow instructions and management directives.

Ensure a safe working environment, good housekeeping, and 5S for your area and all of VBI.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or six months to one‑year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires basic understanding of blueprint reading, leadership capability, and ability to solve problems.

Additional Information
The salary rate for this role is currently $22‑$28 per hour, but may be influenced by training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. The base pay range is subject to change. Benefits include health, welfare, and retirement, and may include an annual bonus if eligible.
