Fork Lift Machine Operator – Night Shift – Hackettstown, NJ
The site manufactures chocolate and peanut M&Ms. The forklift machine operator oversees production line equipment, ensuring efficient and high‑quality output, performs machine operations and changeovers, and trains other team members.
Shift Details
Shift: 3rd Shift (Night)
Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating
Hours: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (approx. 12 hours)
Shift premium: $2 per hour
Key Responsibilities
Operate manufacturing equipment, perform routine repairs, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
Identify and resolve problems to root cause, taking corrective actions.
Collaborate with Maintenance to complete equipment preventive maintenance.
Conduct and document quality control tasks such as metal checks, date‑code inspections, and log maintenance.
Maintain detailed logbooks and shift documentation in compliance with quality standards.
Perform additional ad‑hoc tasks as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience.
Forklift experience.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and email.
Physical Requirements
Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
Lift/carry 10–50 lbs.; push/pull 50–300 lbs.
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
Work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, operate in confined spaces.
Stand and work on feet for extended periods (12‑hour shift).
Operate in hot, cold, and wet conditions.
Proficient English communication, reading, writing.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical degree or certification.
2+ years manufacturing experience with various machines.
Forklift certification.
OSHA certification.
Experience with SAP.
