
Assistant Project Manager

Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support mission‑critical data center construction projects in the Houston area. This individual will primarily support the interior infrastructure and MEP scopes, working closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure projects stay organized, on schedule, and aligned with quality and safety standards. Projects range from 15 MW to 110 MW, and the role requires someone who is comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment. The Assistant Project Manager will assist with day‑to‑day project execution, including cost tracking, procurement, scheduling support, subcontractor coordination, and documentation, while maintaining a strong presence on the job site. This position balances office‑based coordination with active field involvement, partnering closely with Superintendents to support job‑site operations, safety initiatives, audits, and observations. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, organized, confident in communicating with both field and office teams, and motivated to grow into a Project Manager role over time.

Skills and Requirements
3–5 years of commercial construction experience
Exposure to mission‑critical or complex environments
Mechanical / Electrical (MEP) background
Experience working for a General Contractor or major subcontractor
Strong understanding of construction job‑site operations
Working knowledge of construction industry practices and safety standards
Ability to assist with estimating, scheduling, procurement, and quality control
Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
Clear written and verbal communication skills for field and office coordination
Professional demeanor with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams
Direct data center construction experience (data centers, hospitals, large‑scale construction builds)
Experience supporting interior build‑out and/or MEP infrastructure
Experience working on large, complex, or multi‑phase projects
Experience with Procore or similar construction management platforms
OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, or LEED accreditation
Background with a large General Contractor (Rosendin or similar experience aligns well)
Demonstrated interest in long‑term growth into a Project Manager role
