Description

Summary: The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role supports employee inquiries, maintains payroll records, and collaborates with HR and Finance to ensure data integrity. Responsibilities also include: ensuring data entered into the accounting system(s) is timely, complete, and accurate, periodically compiling reports, and gathering statistics. This opportunity can offer continued growth within the Finance Department and expansion of knowledge.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for all employees
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy
Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Manage payroll-related tax filings and reporting
Coordinate with HR on employee data changes (hires, terminations, benefits)
Works closely with management to ensure any necessary timesheet changes are made in a timely manner
Provide excellent customer service when responding to employee payroll inquiries
Support audits related to payroll and employee compensation
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Qualifications, Education & Experience:
AS in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
25 years of payroll processing experience
Knowledge of payroll systems (e.g. Paycom, other)
Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to make sound and evaluative judgments, ensuring procedural requirements are followed and ethical standards for the follow-up of accounts are maintained
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word; or,
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
